Civilians killed per officer murdered more than doubled from 2020
In Brazil, one police officer died on duty for every 250 civilians killed by the police, also in service, in 2022—the highest number in the historical series—as per the 3rd edition of the Monitor of the Lethal Use of Force in Latin America and the Caribbean.
