Temperatures likely to plunge in Rio Grande do Sul state
Brazil’s meteorological authority Inmet has issued an orange “danger” alert indicating a likely plunge in temperatures in the south of the country. The phenomenon should be noticed between Monday and Wednesday (May 13–15), with thermometers registering temperatures five degrees Celsius lower.Heráclio Alves, a meteorologist at the agency, told Agência Brasil on Sunday (12) that the cold front is likely to be followed by colder, drier air, which “reduces rainfall and causes temperatures to drop.
