Lethal violence against women drops in Brazil
New data from Brazil’s Ministry of Women show that 1,450 femicides and 2,485 intentional homicides of women and bodily injuries followed by death were recorded in the country in 2024.A femicide is the murder of a woman which is motivated by her status as a woman, or the result of domestic or family violence or discrimination.
